Since we weren't in school on Saturday, here's a happy belated "May Day!" Ever heard of a maypole? It's an old tradition celebrated mostly in Europe. Do a Google search or look on YouTube to see more, but here's a colorful picture to give you the idea:

 Math Magic:
Meet Blaise.  He was a famous French mathematician and philosopher.  He came up with a brilliant observation that we still use today.  It's called "Pascal's Triangle," and it holds a bit of magic. . . .

In Class:

• Using the words of probability (impossible, unlikely, equally likely, likely, certain).
• Looking at outcomes and desired outcomes.
