Math students will be taking their statewide assessment next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Jan. 15-17). We have been reviewing as much math as we can this week (!) in preparation for the "big days." Parents, please spend some time reviewing these packets with your children. We've had to hurry through the review and as a result, some students have felt really confused. I am certainly available after school, too, if your child would like additional help.
As usual, the statewide assessment is "scored" numerically with students either "exceeding," "meeting," or "nearly meeting." Your child will have at least two attempts to meet or exceed the assessment. I always recommend a good night's sleep before the test, and packing a healthy lunch on those days will help with focus and concentration.
