Monday March 15

Welcome to the first day of the last trimester.  Only one-third of the school year left!  Can you believe it?
Math Magic:
Check out a different way to multiply.  This method is called "Lattice Multiplication" or "Grid Multiplication" and it came from a mathematician in Europe many centuries ago.  Try a few problems after watching this video.

Your turn: try 56x21 and 78x45 using the "Lattice" method.
(By the way, this is lattice.  So is this.  YUM!)

In Class:
  • Last day of multiplying decimals -- working with area.
  • This is my friend Dot.  Help him find his home....

Assignment:  DUE Tuesday
